Glimpses Of Bhutan Tour

Bhutan, best known to the world as the last Shangril-la has a rare combination of harmony and accord amidst a landscape of incredible beauty. Protected by mighty Himalayas from the rest of the world and enriched by the essence of Drukpa Kagyu School of Buddhism, Bhutan has managed to remain shrouded deeply in a jealously guarded isolation. A basic understanding of Bhutan's Buddhism is essential to understanding the Bhutanese.

Itinerary In Details

Day 01 : Fly to Paro from Kathmandu (Bhutan's Capital) .You will be met at the airport and transferred to Thimpu (65 kms./2 hrs. Approx.)

Day 02 : A Full days sightseeing of Thimpu:
AM-visit Zeleukha Nunnery, National Library and Memorial Chorten of His Late Majesty Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk. PM- A visit to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays a variety of Bhutanese handicrafts.

Day 03 : Thimpu-Paro (65 kms. / 2hrs.)
AM-After breakfast a leisurely drive to Paro.
PM- Drive through the Paro Valley to visit Drukgyel Dzong Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day the beautiful Jhomolhari( known as The Mountain of the Goddess 7314m.)) is evident. There is alsoa visit the National Museum Located in the Ta Dzong which displays a rich collection of the fine arts and weapons.

Day 04 : Paro: Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang. AM- After breakfast drive to Sartsham Chorten. Two hours of horse riding (optional) to Taktsang. After refreshment, a short trek to view the famous Taktsang Lhakhang (the "tigers nest"). PM- After lunch a slow downhill trek to Sartsham Chorten and drive to hotel.

Day 05 : Drive to airport for your flight to Kathmandu.
